On a mission to close the care gap for millions living with undiagnosed hearing loss, Otos officially launches as a spinout from Aalto University — bringing scalable, accessible hearing diagnostics to the frontlines of care.

Hearing loss is a growing global health concern, affecting over 1.5 billion people worldwide, yet most cases remain undetected for years. At Otos, we believe early detection shouldn’t depend on a complex care pathway. Our platform equips primary care professionals with intuitive tools to perform rapid, reliable hearing assessments —unlocking earlier access to treatment and improving long-term outcomes.

"Accessible hearing diagnostics are a foundational step toward more equitable and effective care,” says Wycliffe Raduma, CEO and co-founder of Otos. “At Otos we are building tools that work in real-world clinical environments and reach people where they need care most.”

A platform built for primary care

Otos combines clinical accuracy with ease of use in its new hearing diagnostic platform, to support timely triage and smarter referrals. Designed for ease of use, our solution helps healthcare providers respond to the rising demand for hearing services—especially among aging populations.

“Our goal is not just better diagnostics—it’s earlier rehabilitation, improved quality of life, and a more efficient care pathway,” adds co-founder and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Saku Sinkkonen.

Rooted in clinical insight and global collaboration

Otos was born through the Biodesign Finland program and shaped in close collaboration with the Helsinki University Hospital (HUS). The company launches with foundational support from Nordic Science Investments, Aalto University, and Business Finland.  Otos’ work has been guided by networks including Spark Finland, Health Incubator Helsinki, Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) Estonia, and the SILTA program—as well as advisors and mentors across Finland, the U.S., UK, and Australia who have helped validate the approach and global potential.

As we launch, we invite partners, clinicians, and investors to join us in shaping the future of accessible hearing diagnostics.
